about the Family Outreach Ministry
The family outreach ministry is part of Wesley United
Methodist Church and came about as part of our visioning process.
The congregation made a commitment to advance the well-being of
families within the congregation as well as our wider community.
The family outreach ministry’s office is on the third
floor of Wesley United Methodist Church at 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Mason
City, Iowa.
The family outreach ministry pursues its mission with
three particular outcomes: (1) to advance the healthy well-being of families
in the congregation, expand the presence of Wesley in the wider community
through the resources of the ministry, and to provide timely, responsive
behavioral health resources to families in our community that advance health
family life.
The family outreach ministry pursues its mission by
engages behavioral health resources into the ministry of the church to reach
and serve families as they face troublesome issues.
The outreach ministry is led by Ken Zimmerman, a
clinical social worker.
Ken has been in practice since 1972.

1972-1979:
Clinical and consulting practice with the Des Moines Child Guidance Center
as the Coordinator of the Division of Community and Child Studies
1979-2008:
Clinical, consulting and administrative practice as the executive director
for the Mental health Center of North Iowa
2008- present:
Clinical and consulting practice with Behavioral Health Options PLC and as
part of Wesley United Methodist Church Family Outreach Ministry
